Aitareya Upanishad

Aitareya Upaniṣad^[1] (entre -700 et -500) est l'une des plus anciennes Upanishad majeures attribuée au sage Aitareya ou Mahidāsa Aitareya^[2]. Celle-ci fait partie du groupe des douze Upaniṣad principales (Mukhya Upaniṣad) et a été commentée par Ādi Śaṅkara. Il s'agit d'un texte court en prose faisant partie de la Śruti et associé au Ṛgveda. Celui-ci comporte trois chapitres et se compose de trente-trois versets.
